![]() We ended up buying our tickets online to miss the long lines outside, but that meant paying more because online didn’t allow me to use my AAA discount which would have saved $10.00. Luckily the main thing that we wanted to see was the Space Shuttle exhibit and we were able to see that without a problem. Parking was difficult and spots were far and few between. The hour-long lines just to get into pay to the parking lot should have given us the indication of how the rest of the trip was going to be. It was during the week between Christmas and New Year’s, so this is NOT the time to go unless you want to not see things and wait in lines. A little disappointed in the visit compared to other space centers we have toured. Each tram tour (blue and while) are 1 hour long. I would recommend an entire day here if you want to see everything and not feel rushed. We also didn’t take time to eat while visiting. We spent 5 hours there and were able to see all the inside exhibits and do both tram rides, but after that we ran out of time. Please be respectful so people can continue visiting this site. When visiting, please listen and be respectful, so many people not following basic instructions was disheartening, especially when visiting the Apollo Mission Control Center, the entire area is a national historic site and is fragile. The app made booking tram tours and getting around very easy. We took both the blue and the white tour which was a highlight of our trip, actually getting to see these places was amazing!Īll the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and everything actually seemed to be well organized. The red tour is just a shuttle to the Saturn V building. On the way back, they drop you off at the Saturn 5 building for you to explore on your own pace, and take a shuttle back when you are ready. The blue tour takes you to the astronaut training facility where you can look down on the entire facility via a catwalk. The white tram tour takes you to the actual apollo mission control center where you watch a short film and see what the room looked like during the lunar landing, which was really awesome. There were three different tram tours offered during out visit. We did not have time to visit the outside during our visit. The outside contains a mocked-up shuttle, an actual shuttle carrier, and a Space X rocket. I was impressed at the number of items that had that were real, and actually used in space, it was really cool! All of them are worth checking out, but the starship gallery one was my favorite. The inside of the building contains many exhibits, including one about Mars, the international space station, and the starship gallery. In my mind, the space center is broken out into 3 “sections” the inside of the main building, the external yard next to the main building, and the tram tours. We bought tickets online the day before (plenty of availability) and parking and entering was very easy with the mobile tickets.
